The cover art for the Turn series, and for the Last City of America were designed and more-or-less dictated by me, then drawn out and created on Photoshop by my brother James. You can check out his Instagram to see his photography by tapping the button below.
At the start of a long journey for the cover of The King of May, James first drew the face he wanted (which looked eerily similar to a younger version of himself), and then made the magic happen digitally.
I was very happy with the cover for The Sins of a Master Race, though I’m not sure if I prefer my brother’s finished version or my own original masterpiece produced on MS Paint.
The map of Voulhire was a bit of a fun project. The first sketch was done many years back, when I was in my teens. The second sketch I did with colored pencil (bad idea for cheap computer scanners, as it turns out). I was going to try to make a final copy out of that, but instead used it as a model for my brother, to whom I once again had to turn for his abilities with graphic design. The result of that collaboration is what you see below!
